Bow Biters - Barney Feature

• Bite Your Bows to Lock Your Laces

Lock your laces in place with these Bow Biters, which is a small plastic device that goes over the laces while displaying the grinning head of Barney. Directions: Thread laces through holes, with Madagascar facing forward. Tie knot as you would normally, and pull laces firmly across Bow Biter opening. Laces will lock into place. Continue tying bow, pulling firmly until Bow Biter bites and locks laces into place. To untie, pull Bow Biter's top half straight up until it locks in open position. Simply untie bow.

My twenty month old daughter really enjoys watching this. There are actually two videos on this dvd and all the songs are good ones. It has a lot of features compared to more recent dvds. I especially like the jukebox feature that allows me to select one or a few songs to play at a time. There are songs about washing hands, brushing teeth, and eating healthy snack as well as toddler favorites about animals and dancing and clapping hands. Yes, it's Barney, but my daughter really connects with the singing and dancing. Just be careful, you'll end up with these songs in your head! Barney, BJ, and Baby Bop present some of their favorite songs, rhymes, and stories.

I bought this Barney Stuffed animal for my 1 year old last year. It is STILL in great condition, so quality is there. I received it very fast and my daughter just adored it. She still carries it around with her everywhere. We were a little surprised at how small it was, but that's our fault, as we didn't carefully read the description where it gave the size as being 8". But, our daughter loved it anyway. I highly recommend this product for any child that loves barney, as it is one of the very few barney toys on the market that doesn't cost a fortune!

Barney is the one TV character my twin granddaughters (18 months) respond to. The tiny stuffed version held their attention for a short while, but they still prefer "live" Barney. Oh Well!

I bought this DVD for my 16 month old granddaughter and she loves it. We
already owned Barneys ABC's and she had started learning colors and letters from that so I just knew she would enjoy this one too and I was right. Of course we consider her exceptional but I believe that any toddler will learn being introduced to the "Barney" way of teaching!!! Barney explores a real world location when he takes BJ™ on a trip to the zoo! BJ makes the trip a photo safari, taking pictures of all the animals, while Baby Bop looks for a real elephant to show to her doll "Nelly the Elephant." And there's an unexpected guest - Scooter McNutty™ - who searches the zoo for an exhibit devoted to the noblest of animals: the squirrel! Pretty good dvd, although there is a limited amount of animals in it. It would have been neat if they could have shown more animals than just the few....other than that my daughter seems to love the comments in the beginning from the other children. According to her this will remain in our collection, she just turned 2.

My kids (age 1 and 3) love Barney so this was the fourth Barney DVD I have purchased. They love Barney's lively chatter, friends and songs and this DVD does not disappoint in that area. I would have given this DVD five stars for that. However, to get to the actual Barney story, every time you start the DVD you have to go through the previews. It drives the kids (and me) crazy. I tend to avoid this DVD for that reason. We have to go through all the Hit Entertainment groups--Kipper, the Wiggles (which scares one of my sons because he for some reason does not like the Wiggles and asks for them to be turned off), Angelina, and more Barney etc.--over and over. I actually like some of these other groups but I did not buy the DVD to watch a preview of them every time. The other Barney DVDs we have list options to see the previews, which we enjoy at an appropriate time. If this Barney DVD were based on story, I would give 5 stars. But laid out the way it is, I give 3 stars (maybe even less). Sorry Barney.

the only negative thing about this DVD is all the advertising in the beginning, that can be skipped over but is bothersome.
It has the option to play once and go back to the main menu, or to play continuously, which I love. It is like the TV show, but it's longer. It has a good balance of Barney music and sing along, and interactive kids learning. I really like it and my grandson loves it. He doesn't even want Elmo anymore.

Just Dreadful - J. B. Poersch -
A cynical mishmash of clips to celebrate (the latter part of) Barney's last twenty years. Highlights weak songs and weaker "new" characters. The scenes at the circus border on creepy. They're is even a hip-hop version of "Baa, Baa Black Sheep".....groan! Ignore the neat packaging and go find instead DVDs from the "Classic Barney" collection -- titles like "Barney Rhyme Time", "Lets play school" and "outdoor fun". The shows don't feel dated and they were made with a great deal more care.
